Re: Brunswick Eruption 16 - Nov. 11, 2017

Gears are for rotors
Fuel is for kPa
You better climb
And fix those motors

We are back at it for the last off-season event in MAR. With many teams from across the region showing up to get the last flight out for STEAMworks. It seems many teams wanted to get in on an Evil Sunday with the waitlist for BE going as high as 7 teams. With many of the robots coming not known for vast amounts of kPa look for ties to be broken purely on F&F, fuel and fouls. Many teams are still testing out new drive teams, some going as far to rebuild their robots the early day is sure to be filled with pure chaos. Moving into playoffs, the slightest mistakes like missing an auto gear or picking up a foul can give the opposing alliance the edge needed to win. The true race to 4 rotors will be during alliance selection to put together the puzzle pieces to best prepare your airship.

Meet the Teams

Usual suspects:
  • Our Aloha Spirit: 25
  • Last chance for a win after finals at Ruckus: 222
  • Filling their boiler in auto: 5895
  • Shooting high after 2 wins and 3 #1 seeds: 303
  • Bridesmaid but never the bride: 747
  • MAR and IRI Champions with gears and auto kPa: 2590

Trying things out:
  • Missed DCMP playoffs for the first time this year: 56
  • Reliable side peg autos: 75
  • Only passed quarters once in 2017: 1257
  • Haven’t played since March: 1089
  • Mints & Men: 4575, 6327
  • “New kids” on the block: 6897
  • Welcome aboard: 9990 (2601 pre-rookie)

Visitors from NYC:
  • MidKnight Mayhem and Hudson Valley Rally champs: 333
  • Welcome back from China: 694
  • Hudson Valley Champions: 2601
  • Rookie All-Star: 6401

A message to pilots: Please do not forget the ropes

With only 1 day left of STEAMworks which airship will cross the finish line first? Only time will tell at this year’s Brunswick Eruption!

Assuming Howard is relatively sane*, then the answer is clear. The MARtian must be Howard’s FTA bear. There’s no other feasible option.

*admittedly a terrible assumption
