Re: Kansas Cup Q & A

Will there be a rolling registered team list or just one posted all at once before the event?

We are still finalizing some, but we won't be doing safety checks (gracious professionalism). The only rule change I can confirm is we will have 4 alliances advance to finals not 8.

Interesting. I'd assume that's because of the time constraints?

Re: Kansas Cup Q & A

No its mostly to create a more competitive atmosphere. With 8 alliances going to the finals that would mean 24 teams would be advancing. If it is only 4 alliances, that means 12 teams advancing or 1/3 of the total teams going to finals which is close to the same ratio of teams advancing for The Kansas City Regional.

Can you give more info about the times of the event? Does it start Friday evening after school or is it all day? I looked around on the website and didn't see it.

Re: Kansas Cup Q & A

For those watching, the schedule and registered teams list are posted on the website. There is still time to sign-up for anyone wanting to attend and it should be a fun time.

Also, here is the email update:

We've gotten 17 teams signed up. We only need 24 teams registered by Oct 30 to have a viable, competitive tournament We've modified our schedule to be Saturday only, with a max of 30 teams. The new schedule is up on http://www.frcteam5119.com/kansas-cup/event-scheadule/.

We've got 9 matches per team scheduled, with a possible 10th if we're running on schedule. Our official Steamworks field is reserved and I've somehow managed to reserve a high school for 36 hours. We've got a great tourney planned.

If you need a W9, please email me and I'll get the info necessary. Our AR/AP team is ready to assist!

Thanks!

Re: Kansas Cup Q & A

Currently the website is showing 20 teams. Half of them did not get into (or did not register for) the Cow Town ThrowDown. Thank you for hosting this event. The local demand for a 2nd regional to accommodate everyone has also been a problem for trying to get into off-season events. In addition, it's a great opportunity to train some new drivers in full 3 on 3 competition.
