My assistant coach and I attended the Parallax workshop at Pontiac Central High School yesterday, Saturday. What an outstanding workshop it was! I learned a great deal about programming. It has been a long time since I did any BASIC, and I was glad to have a chance to re-learn. The instructors were excellent, available to all of us, and we had a blast. We actually programmed small robots to perform different tasks, including blinking lights, beeping sounds, changing frequecies, and programming servos to move, turn, back up, etc. The day went by very fast. Thanks to Mike Martus of Team #47 for great food, lots of information, and a very comfortable setting. We can't wait for the ChiefDelphi Invitational tournament.
If any of you live where you can have access to some of the remaining Parallax worshops, I recommend that you go. A few are still open. FIRST is using a new Stamp this year, and we received information about it. Parallax gives away these Stamps at the workshop, including the BS2 (the BS2IC, I think) and the brand new, hot off the presses last summer, BS2sx. This new stamp will be used in the FIRST control system this year. We received one of each. The workshop is worthwhile on many levels, but it is especially good for the coaches to bone up on BASIC skills and new information. Thanks, Mike Martus, and Pontiac Central ChiefDelphi, for a good day.
