cross the Barrier
What we should do if we are a rocky member and we did not access to use Mecanum wheels 8" to across the barrier and we need to know other ideas of across the barrier?

Re: cross the Barrier
You can try skid plates (an angle that serves as a wedge before your front wheels are contacted) or perhaps another set of idler wheels set higher.

Pneumatic tires are good shock absorbers.

Re: cross the Barrier
you could use some form of skii's and use more wheels to reduce the gap like were gonna use 4 on each side instead of 3.

Re: cross the Barrier
How about a whole row of small wheels all along the frame? We're not going to do that, but with enough momentum and 4-wheels driven, it should just sail over the rail. The little wheels in the middle should be 3.5" from the floor for maximum effect. Maybe a two-wheel lead in at the front with two sizes would be more effective than a skid. We might even actually try that. Roller blade wheels as the second wheel maybe?
Just remember, free advice is likely to be worth just what you paid for it. ![]() |
