RJ connectors loose fit in jaguar

After A week of experimentation with CAN, our Programming/Electrical Team has finally gotten it mostly working. Everything syncs up, but we are having some serious problems with our can cable connections. We have found that our RJ 12 connectors fit very loosely in the jacks on the jaguar. They lock into the jack, but don't make a solid electrical connection. They definitely work when someone is holding them in , but if they let go and touch the wire at all they lose signal.

Through troubleshooting we have determined that it is almost certainly the loose connection that is causing the problem. We'll probably open one up and check the pins for continuity with the cables at our next meeting just to be sure.

Has anyone else had this problem? What are some possible solutions?

We were thinking that we could possibly Take the RJ11/12 Jacks off and directly solder the cables on but it seemed like a pain/risky/questionably legal.
