SmartDashboard Camera Widget MIA

SmartDashboard's Camera widget has only shown up once in the View>Add menu in about fifteen different launches. I had it going properly last time, then I saved the layout, quit SmartDashboard, and when I reopened it the widget had gone again, and it is no longer in View>Add. The Laptop Camera Widget is also missing. It seems very arbitrary (which is frightening in programming). I've tried reinstalling, and replacing WPIJavaCV.jar with other versions, and nothing is working. I'm running this on Windows 7, bootcamp, MacBook Pro. Any suggestions would be wonderful.

It probably has to do with how your opening the program. If you go into Program Files\SmartDashboard and double-click it there, it should work.

If you create a shortcut, or copy the SmartDashboard.jar elsewhere, or run it from shell or batch without being in the proper folder, then it might not work.

Re: SmartDashboard Camera Widget MIA

Check to make sure that the widget is in the C:\Program Files\SmartDashboard\Extensions folder (or something like that)

Re: SmartDashboard Camera Widget MIA

I was opening it through a shortcut in my start menu. Now I've opened it the traditional way, and it works! Thanks so much! You've saved me quite a bit of hair pulling.
