Game controllers

Is there any way to differentiate the sticks on a game controller in the code. because it will only let me use one stick on the controller because the argument in the line where i make arcade drive is only for USB port because it is expection a joystick which therefore has one stick. is there a specific class for this or a specific line of code to make it recognize this?
