But does it go fast? Matches are only 2:15, and you're not allowed to pull field elements around.

It goes fast and it pushes hard.
We use tracks, the wheels are just delrin rollers. |

Pulling a van is actually quite easy for an FRC robot. I remember reading a post a while ago that went into detail about the math invovled.

It is more or less the same drive that's been used by a number of teams on the west coast since at least 2007.
Look for video of teams 997, 753, or 668 -- among others. |

It is still cool to watch a fairly small robot pull a van. It's actually team 997 who has the video, but it's the same drivetrain modified to fit this years game.

It is the Outback tank drive. My dad edited it for this year.
