Issues at off-seasons

Are any of your robot issues from the regular season continuing in the off-season events or have they disappeared?

Had some issues at MontyMadness. I was on the volunteer crew. Most of it was induced by things we could find. Did have 2 bad digital side cars.

Re: Issues at off-seasons

It looked like Team 125 was having some pretty serious issues with their robot dropping out during the final matches at BC13.

As far as we have been able to diagnose, that was NOT an FMS issue. Before the last final match, we found a loose connection in the CRIO, and we did not reset during that match (despite going over the bridge very hard). We also had issues with the sidecar that we don't have fully diagnosed yet. This is why we were having issues picking up/loading during the semis.

We were glad that you were able to fix your robot for F-2. It would have been disappointing to play in the finals against two robots.

Re: Issues at off-seasons

Some things I noticed at Monty Madness:
  • Loose/disconnected Ethernet ports on driver stations (by far the most common field problem, computers seem to be aging quicker than ever!).
  • Bad USB ports.
  • Bad driver station boot-ups.
  • Improperly configured backup drive team computers
  • Uncharged driver stations, if it ain't a classmate, you can't charge it at the driver station. Sorry, no way to guarantee you won't overload the field.
  • Crios covered in metal shavings and dust.
  • Disconnected radios
  • Radios in Auto mode
  • Shorted digital sidecars and jaguars
  • Batteries that lost charge during a match
