From the Bpmb Squad
Posted by Greg Mills.
Engineer on team #16, Baxter Bomb Squad, from Mountain Home and Baxter Healthcare. Posted on 3/27/2000 6:29 AM MST Just want to echo the comments about the team of #45, #47 & #111. You guys were awesome together. It seems that over the years we have had some great matches with each of you guys - we have won some, lost some (none have been rained out) and that is the way it should be. I was more impressed not by the machines on the court at the end but rather the caliber of the programs that put them there. We all , along with now literally hundreds, have the type of programs that FIRST is striving for. I was happy to watch you guys get the gold -it was well deserved ( and a silver in the midst of such competition ain't bad) Thanks to the guys from Truck Town - we really appreciate being the #2 pick - it was a great ride to the end - thanks again. Looking forward to Nationals - Raul, Mike & Andy - I'd like another shot!! |

I personally fell in love with your machine (I looked at it for probably a half hour). The drivetrain is my favorite part. It's a great machine and made a natural choice for our team. I just wish our bot had been healthy so we could have given 111, 47, and 45 a real run for their money. ![]() For all those interested, T3 was put out of commision by a cracked drill motor transmission. We'd like another shot too. ![]() |

We also ran the last two rounds with 2/3 power but couldn't stop to fix it because that would have left only one machine on the floor. But that is one requirement of this game - be robust enough to take it down the stretch. |

You guys deserve another shot and I hope you get it (& I hope we are there too). It was a shame that T3 did not get a chance to play in the finals and show us their best. I was glad to see that our robot could take the beating you gave us in our last Q round (you have one tough machine) and not sustain any structural damage. I'm glad you guys did that because it gave us confidence in that our robot could survive the intense collisions. And we all know that the elimination rounds are much rougher than the Q rounds. I am anxious to see you all in Florida. I gotta take a closer look at your machines. Raul |
