Houston-Area FLL Outreach Award Announcement
The University of Houston, the FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Operational Partner in South Texas (the Houston area) proudly announces the “Houston-Area FLL Outreach Award” to help Houston area FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) teams gain valuable outreach while expanding the FLL program in and around Houston.

Who Can Participate?
FRC teams within a 100 mile radius of Houston are invited to participate.
The competition is a points-based competition designed to increase the number of FLL teams and events in a targeted area (the Target Zone) of Houston. The Target Zone will change each year. For 2012, the Target Zone is the area inside of Houston’s Beltway 8, the Katy area and the Cypress area. The competition is open from August 1, 2012 to February 28, 2013. Only events and activities occurring within the competition dates are considered for points.

Prizes
The FRC team earning the most points during this period will win the following:
• Press Release about winning team submitted to Houston Media outlets
• An interview with a University of Houston Representative regarding the impact of the FRC team on local FLL Team development (may be videotaped)
• $1000 team sponsorship.

The FRC team earning the second highest amount of points during this period will win the following:
• $750 team sponsorship.
