Introducing: FRC Virtual Orchestra
I just wanted to post on behalf of a friend and teammate of mine who has been working on an interesting project. We noticed that a considerable part of our team both plays an instrument and participates in the FIRST robotics competition. Eric Whitacre, an excellent composer produced a project recently, the Virtual Choir where he got hundreds of people to sing his song to a recording device while he conducted with a youtube video.
We wanted to do something similar to that, so my friend created the very first FRC Virtual Orchestra. The first performance is a song by another composer, just to see if there is interest and to test infrastructure before an original composition. The goal is to bring together an ensemble from different teams for an online performance. I would really appreciate it if the denizens of Chief Delphi would see fit to consider performing in this, tell the musicians on your team about it, or spread it. To summarize the process, you
Here is the web page for the project: http://frcvirtualorchestra.com/ Here is the instructions video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hKY65...layer_embedded And here is the submissions page: http://frcvirtualorchestra.com/?page_id=13 Thanks in advance for helping get this off the ground. If you aren't a musician (like myself) tell one of your friends who is! Sheet music is on the submissions page. |

Re: Introducing: FRC Virtual Orchestra
Please help us spread it to as many teams as possible!
Also, I've been told by many wind players that they would do it if it was not strings only. Encourage your string friends to submit a recording, because if this one goes well, the next one will include winds! Don't forget to sign up for the mailing list, a great way to receive updates. Thanks FRC! |
