Autodesk VEX Curriculum Updated

Autodesk and VEX Robotics have been hard at work updating and improving the Autodesk VEX Curriculum!

In the Autodesk VEX Robotics Curriculum, students walk through the design and build a mobile robot to play a sport-like game. During this process they will learn key STEM principles, and robotics concepts. At the culmination of this class, they will compete head-to-head against their peers in the classroom, or on the world stage in the VEX Robotics Competition, the largest and fastest growing international robotics competition for middle and high school students

The curriculum is divided up into 12 primary Units and 1 optional Unit. Students will start off learning about engineering and engineering problem solving. They will be given introductions to the VEX Robotics Design System and Autodesk Inventor. In Unit 5 students will be presented with an engineering challenge; they will need to build a robot to play a sport-like game. After this, the rest of the curriculum walks students through the design of their robot while presenting them with relevant STEM and Robotics principles. At the end of the course, students compete head-to-head with their robots.

The curriculum is designed to ensure that students with varying learning styles and levels can accomplish the lesson goals. No prior robotics experience is required; beginners are able to advance sequentially through the units to gradually increase their knowledge and skill level.
