[HELP] C-Rio connection issues
One of out teams computers will not connect to the robot by direct ethernet for an unknown reason. The crio will connect to other computers with the same cable and the computer will connect to other networks but no the crio. We have reinstalled the drivers multiple times and each time it will connect until the computer is restarted again. Is there a specific driver for the crio? What else might be the issue?

Re: [HELP] C-Rio connection issues
Firewalls can interfere with communication, disable them.
Multiple NICs can confuse things, Disable all NICs except for the one you are using. Check that the IP address on the one active computer NIC has been set to 10.te.am.5, netmask 255.0.0.0 |

All connections other than ethernet were disabled and the computer was configured correctly

Re: [HELP] C-Rio connection issues
Do you see a green "connect" light on the cRIO's Ethernet port, or does it remain dark?
Almost every modern device with an ethernet jack will connect to any other device using either a patch cable or a crossover cable. The cRIO is an exception; it will not switch its transmit and receive pins to accommodate what is at the other end of the cable. If your computer similarly does not automatically switch, either because it's not designed to or because it's been configured not to, then a crossover cable ought to make the connection work. |

Re: [HELP] C-Rio connection issues
Hang on a second.
Are you trying to connect the computer directly to the cRIO? If so, why? That would mean you have to disconnect the cRIO from the D-Link. The normal thing to do would be to plug the cable from the computer into one of the D-Link's other ports, leaving the cRIO and D-Link still connected. The D-Link should be able to mediate between devices to make a crossover cable unnecessary. |

Not to sound flippant or anything, but why don't you just set them back to what they should be?

Re: [HELP] C-Rio connection issues
If you're using Ethernet to connect to the DLink/cRIO, then the DLink settings really don't even matter for this job. It's being employed only as a switch.
Incorrect settings will matter when you want to use it for wireless. |
