Go to Post When there appears to be something stupid wrong with a game (HPs outscoring robots, unreliable loading, autonomous that accomplishes nothing) I shouldn't complain about it. I should see it as a challenge to exploit! - Chris is me [more]

Finding NEMO

NEMO - non-engineering mentor organization

We deal with all the stuff that isn't rocket science!

About NEMO:

Since 2004 the Non-Engineering Mentor Organization has been a support group and information exchange for adult mentors (both non-technical and technical) and parents who help teams as part of the FIRST programs.

NEMs on teams help with all the behind-the-scenes-glue holding the teams together including mentor recruitment and retention, travel, hotels, meals, parent involvement, fundraising, business plans, public relations, community service, awards preparation, team building and logistics.

NEMO has a website and central clearinghouse for resources that can benefit all teams. These resources were developed by mentors and contain lots of lessons learned.

Joining NEMO:

Visit www.firstnemo.org to find out how to join the hundreds of mentors who are already in the NEMO database and learn how to access the private online forum. The most recent thread on the private NEMO forum links to a step-by-step guide on how to establish a Parent Booster Club, written by a team.

There are no dues to become a member of NEMO.

Visit the "Resources" page on the website to see all the papers - most written by NEMO members.

Best wishes to all the teams this season!
