Re: 2013 Boilermaker Regional
I'm curious, who submitted Chairman's Award at Boilermaker Regional?
3176, Purple Precision submitted there, and we're excited to talk with all of the other teams who take time to create this awesome documentation. |

I'm excited for sure. This is the first time we'll set up for a regional on Wednesday, which will be very helpful tomorrow. I hope the space isn't compromised too much due to the nets.

868 is the real deal this year. If 868 and 359/1501 end up pairing up, this regional is over.

Oh I think you'll find a few other teams with something to say about that.

Watching on the webcast today, I can't be sure how many teams still have yet to get on the field. I know that those Hawaiians must have loved getting so much field time... they'll be the best practiced team in FRC by far. |

Looking like a potential 359/868 alliance, which would be tough to beat but not impossible with a fairly deep second and third tier. With no full court shooters, only one robot with more than a 10 point climber (3487), and no ground loading specialists, it looks like they will likely need to be defeated at their own game, which will be tough. At times, though, there has been some tough defense. Should be another exciting Saturday! |

Re: 2013 Boilermaker Regional
Wow what a crazy day. If it could go wrong with the robot it did. Drive computer crashed, drive system broke several times. Nuts!
But the team persevered, worked their collective butts off and with a lot of luck and amazing partners we ended the day with a record of 7-2, amazing. Good news everything should now be OK. Tomorrow we can show what Scalded Goat can do! |

Re: 2013 Boilermaker Regional
Congratulations to the winning alliance of 359, 868, and 1747. It was very clear that this alliance would win the whole regional right from the get-go.
Congratulations to 1741 for their Chairman's. Thank you to 1732 for picking us. It was surreal having you still sitting in the sixth seed as a captain. We honestly thought that the team was easily one of the top four shooters in the whole regional and would be taken early. A personal thank you for trading shirts with me also. We will be cheering for you all at Wisconsin. Thank you to 3487 for working with us also. I think it was from the very moment that you guys accepted 1732's invitation that all of us knew we had something special going on here. You definitely had potential to go further than quarterfinals. We would also want to apologize to 1732 and 3487 for an early exit. Our bad luck managed to hit at the worst possible time, with what we thought were bad calls in the second match and jamming up our shooter. Both were dependent on our shooting, and we failed in that aspect. I keep wishing it could have gone the other way instead of what it was. Speaking of failing, our whole team were literally disheartened at our performance during the whole regional. Many others and ourselves had high expectations for the robot which unfortunately did not deliver amid harsh defense (we were barricaded by an entire alliance once during qualifications), shooter problems (we jammed in 5 different matches), and missed shots (our angle adjuster absolutely refused to work in every single situation). What makes this even more frustrating was the fact that we hit every single shot on the practice field. In addition to all of that, we couldn't lift at all. Our lifter did not cooperate once at all. We even broke the gearbox testing our auto modes early in the morning today. I can't speak for the team, but it was quite simply the most trying day of my time in FRC. I hope we never face this kind of bad luck again, and will work diligently to avoid this as much as possible. Regardless, I am proud of our team for pushing on through. We will be working very, very hard to get the robot ready in time for Crossroads. This was certainly not the best showing for us, but this isn't the last of us just yet. Re: 2013 Boilermaker Regional
I would like to thank our alliance of 1501 and 3487. You both made it exciting to the last match and it was incredible working with you.
1501, please do not feel bad about any mechanical issues, we have all had our fair share of jams. Your autonomous was nearly flawless and your driving impeccable. Our team admired you last year and it was great having you on our alliance. I wish you the best of luck at your next regional, I know that the experience from Boilermaker you will go far. 3487, we knew we could count on you for a guaranteed 30 points every match – and that is exactly what you gave us. You were undoubtedly a key element to the alliance’s strategy! I admired your drive and desire to win. I wish we could have helped you go further. I would like to congratulate the winning alliance of 359, 868, and 1747. You were truly formidable and truly deserved the win. Additionally, congratulations to 1741 on the Chairman’s Award, a great team on and off the field. Looking forward to Boilermaker next year! |

Re: 2013 Boilermaker Regional
Congratulations to the winning alliance of 359, 868, and 1747 on behalf of Robot Casserole. I knew your alliance would prove hard to beat, and you performed as well as I expected. I would also like to thank 868 for helping us out with programming issues during Thursday as we struggled with our robot working on the practice field for most of the morning.
I would also like to thank 829 for picking Robot Casserole and putting together a great alliance with 461. I wish we had performed better in semis for you two, I feel we let you two down with our climber going premature the first match and the penalty we committed in the 2nd match. This isn't the way we wanted our season to end, but I am proud of what our team accomplished and look forward to biuld on this years success. 1732, 1501, 3487: I thought we had some great matches in the first round of elims, your alliance really made us work to get to the semis. You would have been equally deserving to move on. As a team, we had a blast at Boilermaker. I personally enjoyed being able to sit so close to the field and feel the robot impacts. Thanks to all the teams making us feel right at home, we will definitely consider Boilermaker again in the future. |
