Go to Post FIRST is hard. It's supposed to be. We can't keep giving people a check and expecting them to succeed. We need to stop this model. It takes a village to raise a child but it takes a community to build a FIRST team. - Andrew Schreiber [more]

I got this idea from Charlie's post.

How about if during the lunch break on friday's competition, there were contests run on the fields for special awards or prizes. Like a robot tug-of-war and a race through an obstacle course. We would finally get to see who had the fastest robot and who had the strongest robot among other things.

There could be a contest to see who could score the most points in 45 seconds. And anything else that could fit into the time schedule. Regionals would probably have to be used to qualify people for nationals (too many teams for 1 hour in Florida). But it'd be fun, and it would give teams bragging rights.

Woud you enter your robot in a contest like this?
