Re: Will OPR be valid for this year?
Saying as this is a largely individual game, yes.
There's no direct cooperation between alliance members or alliances needed, so OPR will work nicely. |

Re: Will OPR be valid for this year?
The interactions between alliance members are relatively low and simplistic, allowing member's contributions to be linearly additive like OPR expects. It should work well. Possibly on par with it's prediction rates in 2008.

Re: Will OPR be valid for this year?
OPR has always been a perfectly valid statistic to use when looking for your first alliance partner or gauging the relative difficulty of some qualification matches. Some teams will always swear by it while others cast it aside. It won't be weird like it was in 2012 because there is no part of the game that gives you an advantage in rankings that isn't scoring as many points as possible in all aspects of the game.
i.e. there will be no Top 5 Qualification Teams in the bottom 5 OPR, unless you're at some weird event where everyone scores 80ish points and your bell curve looks like a frowny-face. |
