Multiple Cameras, IP Addresses, and MPEG-4

From a thread in one of the programming forums...

I thought I'd move the question here since it really isn't language (or even programming) specific.

I can find nothing in the rules or the FMS WP limiting the number of host devices on the team VLAN, nor any restrictions on connections between them and the DS host, other than port numbers. So the DS can have as many camera connections to, for example, 10.##.##.12:80, 10.##.##.13:80, ... as it could handle within the bandwidth limitation, true?

Some of these cameras can produce MPEG-4 output, which is MUCH more bandwidth efficient than the MJPEG from an Axis 206. So it appears to me that multiple high quality streams are possible if 1) the networking is set up to abide by all the applicable rules and restrictions and 2) appropriate client software is installed on the DS. Am I missing something?

That is correct.
