I really like the X-Cats naming convention, X-WhAAAt is probably my favorite robot name. (And it took me a really long time to search around for the correct spelling...)

I was shocked a couple of years ago when I was attending the Florida regional and attending an Exploding Bacon pre event dinner and was hovering near a table where some team 79 kids were. I'm not sure if they knew who I was and started chanting "X-WhAAAt!?! Oh Yeah? X-WhAAAt!?! OK!". These kids obviously weren't around in 2005 so I don't know where the heck they got that from but it was rather amusing.
