What's in a name?
Posted by Thomas A. Frank.
Engineer on team #121, The Islanders/Rhode Warrior, from Middletown (RI) High School and Naval Undersea Warfare Center. Posted on 10/6/2000 4:20 PM MST Gee, the thread on those nylon things was quite interesting...but you're all wrong. The actual nomenclature for the ones most of us use is (according to the government supply system): STRAP TIE DOWN, ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS Type I MS-3367-?-? Class I Specification MIL-S-23190 Rev E. where the ?'s are numbers which yield size info. Class II units are somewhat different. I've never seen a Class III. Since these things WERE invented by the military-industrial complex, we really should use the proper names, don't you think? Nah, me neither. We just call them cable ties.
