Shooter pointers

So I was wondering if a few teams can give us some pointers on the shooters? We are starting to attempt to get more distance, but still have some things to work on. (We are shooting 36 ft to the low goal - yet to try the upper goals -we are just getting started .

We have two pneumatic wheels and are a straight shooter. The second wheel is 25% faster than the first via chain and sprocket and we are using two bane bot 550's for shooting through the bane bot cimulator gearbox. We currently have compression to 10.5 inches from the shortest point on the wheel to wall. The frisbee sits lower on the wheel though so we are not getting that much compression. We have wheel tread material opposite the shooter wheels for grip. I forgot to download any pics, but will do that tomorrow.

So any hints teams have found to get their shooter further and or more accurate that we should be looking at?

Re: Shooter pointers

Did you design your shooter so that the wheels can be adjusted in and out to change your compression? Another idea is to change the psi in the wheels because we have a similar design that we can move are wheels and our psi is very low somewhere around 10 psi and we are shooting into the top goal easily.

Re: Shooter pointers

We can move them in and out easily. We can also move the height of the frisbee up by attaching slide plates to the bottom of the shooter tray.

Then do that and see what happens.

Our pneumatic wheels have no air in them (~0 PSI).

Wouldn't that be 14.7 PSI?

He meant 0 PSIG, which is what is usually used to measure tire pressure.
