Check for shorts. We had a similar problem with the 5 volt light. Turns out a bolt had fallen onto the 5 volt digital outputs and was shorting. I'm not sure what on the sidecar uses 6 volts though so I don't have a direction to send you.

Re: Side car 6V power light not on

Disconnect everything (!) and turn the sidecar upside down so anything in it can fall out. Reconnect the power and 37 pin cable and see what you get. If OK, then connect things one at a time to see if it's one of those connections.

If not OK, verify 12 volts at the power connector, and try a different 37 pin cable and, if still NG, the sidecar may be faulty.

Re: Side car 6V power light not on

It's funny, We had a new DSC out of the bag, hooked it up and had power going in and out. It wasn't the wires so I took it apart and found the negative power leg had not been soldered to the board. We also found about 3 or 4 other leads had not been soldered as well. I fixed it, put it back together and runs perfectly now. Sounds like your's might have more than that issue though. Just putting my discovery out there.
