Backward ribbon cable
After wiring up our final robot today, we had some electrical issues and determined the ribbon cable was crimped together wrong. Does anyone know what effects that could possibly have on the digital sidecar itself (if any)? Also, would that cause victors to blow, And/or the pressure switch to not function anymore? Not sure if putting it together wrong would cause that much damage.
Does anyone know where I can find a Pinout diagram of the cable as it applies to the dsc? Thank you all so much. |

Re: Backward ribbon cable
Probably won't damage the Sidecar because of the low voltage involved in the ribbon cable.
But there are plenty of other ways to damage a Sidecar. It won't damage the Victors or the pressure switch. The Sidecar schematics are here. |

Re: Backward ribbon cable
A fair number (actually, all as far as I'm aware) of the kit ribbon cables were assembled backwards last year. It shouldn't cause any problems for anything, just uncrimp it and flip it over. http://www.usfirst.org/sites/default...structions.pdf
