Absolutely stunning. A robot that fulfills every objective with grace and style, and that can fill any role on any alliance. Excellent design, and execution. I'm at a loss for words.

Not all of us have given up!

Luck and skill permitting, we'll all meet on Einstein!

I suppose this means you and 148 plan on bringing that SVR banner to Texas?

Won't be an easy task. Quite a few elite teams ready to battle for it.

Awesome robot though, love the climbing mechanism.

Re: The Robonauts 118 - 2013 Video

That's definitely an awesome bot. Minibotting up the corner and doing the clamp airlock maneuver around the knuckle came up in our brainstorming, but we nixed it as too complicated to pull off. Clearly that's not the case for everyone.

So I'm seeing stock in tall-ish nimble defenders going up at LSR this year...

Building a tall mecanum robot has never felt like a better decision than it does riiiiiight now.

Super excited to compete against (or, preferably, with) 118 at Lone Star! We've got a pit about thirty feet away from you.. looks like we picked a great "learning" regional to attend! (Man, I'm drooling at the prospect of just seeing this thing...)

I have to agree with Cory.
It's a beautiful robot with awesome features but last I heard making a terrific reveal video did not earn you a trip to Einstein.
118 has always made reveal video that quickened the pulse and robots that dazzled the eyes but last year was their second trip to Einstein in all of their years in FIRST(which goes to show you just how hard it is to get there). I'm sure they'll tell you more than anyone else this is just the start of the journey and we shouldn't go too overboard. 118's reveal always signaled to me that things just got real. There are teams who have been to the mountaintop who are watching the video and reading this thread, nodding their heads methodically with a sly smirk and chuckling to themselves say "Soon."

Thumbs up Re: The Robonauts 118 - 2013 Video

All that AND it shoots down reconnaissance drones. [3:39] We'll miss seeing you in Hartford this year. That was last year's 'bot flipping a 'bee, upside down, to Apex at [2:45]. Also checking out the aerial view of the "bullpen" of previous machines just prior to that. We thought we were extravagant with 80/20 parts this year. Apex must have over $1k of pneumatics for this masterpiece. I'd gush some more, but I'd rather go back to another slow-motion viewing............

Probably the creepiest imagery I've read on chief delphi, but so so accurate.

I can so see Andy Bradley and the rest of 233 doing this while watching this video.

Now THAT stands to be a showdown, even before you mention 233. Can't wait to see that one.

And Ed is right: With this video, things just got real. Can't wait to see it in St. Louis!

Will you be releasing any more in-depth information on your beautiful machine this year? I'm sure we can all learn something from 118.
