Dlink troubleshooting
Hey all,
We actually started getting our D-Link set up recently (yea, not the smartest move), and we've run into some issues. When powering up the device, the power light and the third light are solid blue for 2 seconds, and then both lights turn off, and the power light remains a solid orange. I've tried calling DLink technical support, and they hung up on me. We have a week 1 event and if at all possible. I'd like to avoid paying $130 for the router and overnight shipping. Any ideas? |

Re: Dlink troubleshooting
If the staff at the Palmetto Regional can't help you get your router working, you can expect to be able to borrow one from Spare Parts.

Re: Dlink troubleshooting
For the time being, we found a store that has revB in stock and we will buy it from there. Thank you for responding, we'll take our FIRST issued router and ask the staff at Palmetto to take a look at it.

Re: Dlink troubleshooting
Have you tried to log into the D-Link administration web interface? You might find it's something as simple as having to reload the firmware.

Re: Dlink troubleshooting
i did that. I loaded the latest firmware from Dlink's website, but to no avail. I still got the red power light of death.

Re: Dlink troubleshooting
Sounds bad, have you tried a 30-30-30 reset? I actually soft bricked one of my personal linksys WRT54G and WRT310N routers in the past. My issues was due to loss of power during a firmware upgrade (not to mention a bad firmware in the first place). If you haven't tried it out yet and are desperate the following link my help you out. http://www.dd-wrt.ca/wiki/index.php/...et_or_30/30/30
Just a thought, this could be a bad idea if FIRST had loaded in a custom firmware, but I'm doubting that. ![]() Last edited by suj : 22-02-2013 at 21:58. |
