Well, Waterford looks very scary!
I'm looking at Waterford for most of my anticipated robots this week;
33, 51, 67, 308, 494, 503, 548, 573, 1718, 2137, 2834, 2851, and 3539.
I might just have to drop in on Saturday to see some of them in person

There's also 830, 2054, and 2767 over at Gull Lake that'll I'll be keeping an eye on.

1) Yeah, we're scared too.
2) Everyone is overlooking 494. 70 and 494 signed up at different districts. Perhaps they even have different robots...but if not, 70 did just win Kettering, just saying.
3) 2834 puts out an awesome bot every year, better look out for the 2009 rookie season teams.
4) At least you guys don't have to go to Troy...

Edit: How could I forget 2011 Waterford Champions 3539 The Byting Bulldogs? Yeah, I really am terrified of Waterford.

Re: Week 2 Most Anticipated Robots

Well, there won't be that many "heavy hitters" at NYC this year so I honestly think we (334) have a good chance this year.

Not to mention I think we have a solid robot this year.

Re: Week 2 Most Anticipated Robots

2512 seems to be the best full court shooter, and 2169 is close too. They have top-slot-fed shooters with a very high exit to get over most defense, and 2512 also brought a floor pickup. It's not going to be a 5-minute change to get a folding wall up, which will make them very potent. 2512 also seems to have very high accuracy.

Re: Week 2 Most Anticipated Robots

Well, I'm flattered our team is mentioned several times. However, we've struggled more this year than we ever have. In fact, we fired our first frisbee from our robot. Yesterday .

I'd watch out for 3539. Those guys were over at our practice facility a couple times, and I'm very jealous of what they've come up with. The Bulldogs were among the most accurate shooters last year in Michigan, but got repeatedly denied because of some electrical/cRIO problems and the fact that they were a long bot. This year, I expect big things from them.

Re: Week 2 Most Anticipated Robots

I just want to take a moment to congratulate team 1718 on their first competition win ever!
From what I understand, it was a very difficult build season for them, and they went into bag with doubts about their robot, but it was the most unique and effective robot at Waterford this year.
Seriously, it was about time this team won a competition. I can't think of anyone who deserved this more.
Congratulations guys. See you at states!

Camren need I remind you that currently our robot can only be pre-loaded with frisbees? We can't even pick them up much less be fed from the HP stations yet. I think we still have some work to do before we start going out and telling everyone that they should watch out for us.

Otherwise I am really looking forward to seeing 2826, 1714, 2169, 3184, 27, 2177, 525, 2512, 2169, 2175 and 1675 in Duluth this weekend.

Re: Week 2 Most Anticipated Robots

Yes Tom, I agree, it is very humbling when you see your team mentioned among what I consider many of the elite teams in the state if not the world.

It is a very competitive district, and we too have some work to do out of the bag, but we plan on being competitive. . .

Just a few more days, and the cat, albeit, RoboCat is out of the bag!

See you there.

PS. I also saw the Bulldogs, and I agree. Also I don't believe for a minuet that Buzz is too afraid to climb...
