Victors?

I downloaded the Victor 888 .STEP model from VEXPro, and this is what it looked like.

Is that normal, and if so, can someone tell me why it is like that?

Re: Victors?

What you are seeing is just a material. The .STEP file is rendering correctly, but Inventor has just assigned a default texture to the model. If you go up to the top ribbon, you will notice the drop down labeled "Generic". This drop down controls what material your part is made out of. Select the entire part, and then change that drop down to something else, probably a black plastic material.
You can also change individual components, by selecting each part separately and using the drop down to change the materials.

Re: Victors?

You may want to change the material as [zaphodp.jensen] points out, but the main issue here is that Inventor has imported the STEP file as a surface object instead of a solid object. Try using the Stitch tool (in the Surface palette of the 3D Model tab) to convert it back to a solid body.

Re: Victors?

I am sure I created that as an Inventor assembly. When I get back to my own computer I will check for you.

Re: Victors?

When laying out our electronics board, we used the victor 884 model provided from the autodesk education website instead. Also, the autodesk education KOP has the older spike design and the CAD model is smaller than the actual thing.
