Re: Championships: Live Thoughts and Updates

And the torch has passed on to 1241 and 610 for Canada, and 1477 for Texas.

Amazing, amazing plays all around.

Re: Championships: Live Thoughts and Updates

Well, last year there was a general thought that "hth could 16 slip so far in the draft?"

This year? In spades!

HTH!!! Could 610 slip so far into the draft?!?!? Incredible steal of a pick!

Re: Championships: Live Thoughts and Updates

Hey does anyone remember what match Andy Baker MC'd on Galileo and if it was with 610 1477 and 1241 in it. If so he picked to MC the match with a world champ twice in a row

Re: Championships: Live Thoughts and Updates

I dont think anyone predicted what happened on einstein from happening. I dont think anyone predicted the right alliances that were on einstein. What a year. Lots of upsets, but it's not how well your bot does, it is what you gained from it all.

2/3 Canadian FRC World Champions

Congratulations 610 + 1241 + 1477. I can't believe Galileo let that alliance form, they were beastly. I am blown away by the drivers skills on these teams. Especially 610, who were really really good right at the beginning of the season. There were many robots mechanically similar to these bots and I think that the drivers really made the difference for this world champion alliance.

Also, it made me really happy that the world champions are Canadian, even though, unfortunately, neither 1114 and 2056 made it to Einstein.

Re: Championships: Live Thoughts and Updates

That was fantastic!
I'm a rookie, and this was my first time watching the championships live. 610, 1477, and 1241 were so amazing. I had no idea alliances could work together so seamlessly. Also, the number of people at the event was stunning.

Special congrats to all the foreign teams for coming this far, especially 2630: The Thunderbolts! I met them at the D.C. Regional when I accidentally stumbled into their pit, and they were, by far, the most enthusiastic team there. I'm so proud of them for making it into the quarterfinals. (Also, I'm stoked for Team 422: The Mech Tech Dragons! Their 'burning ambition' really paid off, getting off the wait-list and then coming in 20th for the Galileo Division? AWESOME! Blaze it, Dragons!)

IIRC Andy Baker MC a semifinal match 1.1 in which 1114 and 118 won not 1477
