Someone at work is monitoing mine & my friends cable (same neighborhood) from his DSL line, and my ping averages have risen from 100ms to 600ms in the past two days... my friends cable has stayed at 100ms. I wonder what happened at my house.

I was upset they were 100ms ... and now they're 600ms ... super

I measured them too--Much slower last night

I was doing the @Home network diagnoses tool, and the average ping time was 200 ms, when usually it is 10-20 ms. I did the speed test on the MSN website and it stated that I had a connection about the same as a 28.8 modem. But anyway it appears that is back up to speed now.

Well, for the moment, @Home appears to still be running. The real key, however, will be at 3 AM EST tomorrow. That is when @Home's service agreements with the cable companies end, and they can, at that point, terminate service whenever they feel like it. Hopefully this is all just a bunch of maneuvering to try to get the most out of a buy-out deal, but only time will tell.....

Talking 56K Modems Rock!!

56K Modems Rock!! They are a little (ok, ok, a lot) slower than Cable modems, but that is what makes them so cool. If you loose a little bit of speed, it doesn't matter. On cable, you can vary a lot, and sometimes it slows down a lot! 56K doesn't! Hehe, we all should go back to 56k's!

Retribution...

Hehe, I don't want to insult anyone with cable/dsl/t1, but...ha! My friend has cable and its incredibly fast, seeing as the cable switching box is actually in our neighborhood... But he always laughs at me (its all in good fun of course) when it takes a few secdonds for pages to load at my house, while he has instantaneous loading. Anyway, I get to go bother him tonight, as his ISP, Comcast@home, seems to be in the excite network. But, he will have the last laugh, as im sure Comcast will have its services up soon after they go down (if they do). So for tonight, 56K users, unite! lol

Wink Goodbye!!!

NA NA NA NA HEY HEY HEY GOODBYE!!!!!!!!!!

Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye
He'll never love you, the way that I love you
'Cause if he did, no no, he wouldn't make you cry
He might be thrillin' baby but a-my love (my love, my love)
So dog-gone willin'
So kiss him (I wanna see you kiss him, wanna see you kiss him)
Go on and kiss him goodbye

Na na na na, hey hey-hey, goodbye
Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye
Listen to me now
He's never near you to comfort and cheer you
When all those sad tears are fallin' baby from your eyes
He might be thrillin' baby but a-my love (my love, my love)
So dog-gone willin'
So kiss him (I wanna see you kiss him. I wanna see you kiss him)
Go on and kiss him goodbye

Na-na na-na-na na na na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye
Hey hey-hey, goodbye
Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye
Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye
Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye

just messing with ya guys

All this talk about connections has made me curious as to what connections people have... check out my poll as to what connection people are running on.
