Hi-bor Lumber for goal?
Posted by Elaine at 1/11/2001 9:11 PM EST
Student on team #368, Kika Mana, from Mckinley High School and NASA Ames/Hawaiian Electric /Weinberg Foundation. Hi, we are currently constructing our goal right now and was wondering if the weight factor would really make a difference if we use hi-bor pressure treated lumber instead of the KD Pine; there is no market for KD Pine here in Hawaii. Engineer on team #47, Chief Delphi, from Pontiac Central High School and Delphi Automotive Systems. In Reply to: Hi-bor Lumber for goal? Posted by Elaine on 1/11/2001 9:11 PM EST: your message made me laugh at myself. I saw the "KD" on the BOM and I was curious what it was supposed to mean. Then I figured it out and went on. I was about to explain it to you when I realized what a bone-head I can be at times. I had convinced myself the KD stood for Knominal Dimension ;-) Made sense to me at the time!?!? :-P Joe J. |
