SolidWorks in Virtual Kit of Parts 2014

Today SolidWorks and SolidWorks Electrical were posted in the Virtual Kit of Parts. Now is the time to register for SolidWorks sponsorship.

http://www.usfirst.org/roboticsprogr...c/kit-of-parts.

For the complete story go to

http://my.solidworks.com/item/015100/0556050b03

Thank you to Chief Delphi, the mentors, and all the teams that have used SolidWorks over the past 10 years.

Let the fun begin. Marie

Re: SolidWorks in Virtual Kit of Parts 2014

Solidworks is so much easier to use than Inventor. It is more user friendly and the environment is a lot easier to grasp.

Re: SolidWorks in Virtual Kit of Parts 2014

We are working on the 2014 kit of parts now. It will be posted on our website www.solidworks.com/first on January 4. We use 2013 to create the parts.

If you download a part from 3DContentCentral.com, make certain you select the correct year.

Marie

Re: SolidWorks in Virtual Kit of Parts 2014

Just to confirm: Every team gets a copy of Solidworks for their 2014 build season. Applying for a Solidworks Sponsorship is only for teams who would like to (potentially) receive a monetary award from Solidworks?

Or do we apply to receive a copy of Solidworks for our 2014 season?

>>The reason I ask is that we have used Inventor for many years, but now that one of our mentors has a CNC Router, we want to also use Solidworks because of the ability to use HSMWorks. (This is a CAM program that converts the Solidworks CAD design into G-Code for the CNC Router).

Re: SolidWorks in Virtual Kit of Parts 2014

Don

Your team must apply for SolidWorks software at www.solidworks.com/FIRST

Software is not in the physical kit of parts.

Demand is keeping us very busy. Please allow 5 to 10 business days for fulfillment. Marie

Autodesk bought HSM and released a version of HSMExpress for Inventor. http://cam.autodesk.com/hsm

Yes, but at the last it was still in Beta (but from your link, it is released...) HSMExpress for SolidWorks is a mature product that's available now. From Autodesk
