y cables attenuation help

Can we run one y cable from the digital side car to two Talons that control two bag motors. Both of these motor will receive the same control command.

I know that we need a talon for each motor but do we need a pwm for each motor and talon?

What is also unclear, is whether there will be enough signal strength from the side car to both talons? Does y-ing the digital side car pwm reduce signal voltage?

Finally we may be running 4 cim motors on our transmission. Once again can we y the pwm cables to these motors?

It's legal--or rather, not prohibited. Q&A confirmed this

Parallel connections divide current, not voltage. Shouldn't be any reduction in signal voltage.

Technically the added current will increase the voltage drop across the connectors and solder points. This probably wont be noticeable.

The PWM source from the DS is not zero impedance. There's a series resistor. You draw more current, you drop more voltage.

The PWM input to the motor controller requires enough current to light up the LED in the photocoupler.

Don't know for sure about the Talon, but there's a 150 ohm resister in series with the photocoupler LED circuit in the Jag. There needs to be enough voltage at the input to push enough current through that resistor to light up the LED.

Haven't done a TON of testing with it yet but I soldered up a 3 into 1 'Y' cable for our development test robot tonight and one PWM signal was able to address three talons just fine. Seemed to have zero issues with attenuation, appear to have full range of control (looking at motor speed and LED flashing).
