3d print

Anyone have 3d cad for things like crio, side car, and pwb?
I have been thinking it would help to be able to do layouts with out using the actual products. Yes they can be made out of cardboard or whatever, but a 3d printable version would be pretty cool.

Re: 3d print

There's a link at the bottom of this page (under additional resources) with STEP files of most of the FRC components included in the kit of parts:

For individual parts,
Go to www.3dcontentcentral.com
Seach "2014kop"

You can download in .stl format and then go to your rapid prototype machine.

3DContentCentral has 13 other file formats that you can use - even jpeg or dxf

There are 2D and 3D file formats. If you click 2d, you can see top, front, right, isometric. These you can open in DraftSight our free 2D software to create, edit and view DWG files. DraftSight runs on Windows®, Mac® and Linux.
www.DraftSight.com.

If you want the entire SolidWorks library, go to www.solidworks.com/FIRST. Marie

Re: 3d print

For design planning cardboard cutouts are fine, 3d prints are a bit of a waste. However, I highly recommend doing layout planing in CAD, whether with actual models or roughly sized boxes. Doing this can save you some headaches when it comes down to building things.
