AM14U Sonic Shifter Upgrade
I am trying to upgrade the AM14U with the sonic shifter. I am having trouble figuring out what goes on to the output shaft. I removed the bearing from the inner plate since there was already a bearing in the sonic shifter. Now there is a gap on the output shaft between the inner plate and wheel assembly. Do I need to add a spacer? I also can't figure out the reason for the extra .5" hex bearings in the upgrade kit. They seem to be redundant.

Re: AM14U Sonic Shifter Upgrade
We recycled some components from our kit chassis to make it work. That I lived all spacers. We didn't use the new hex bearings either. Did yours come with spacers for the CIM pinion gears that were the wrong size? Ours were too long.

Re: AM14U Sonic Shifter Upgrade
We ended up using an 1/8" spacer and a washer between the inner plate and center wheel. On the CIM, we used 4 washers to properly space the gear. We didn't use the plastic spacers or bearings from the upgrade kit. There really needs to be some instructions.
