Optimal Shifting ??

Hello everybody,

As my team moves into our sophomore year, we decided to implement a two speed drive system. We are using Super Shifter kits from AndyMark.

Through our driving tests, we have ran into some funky results in terms of consistency of the shifts. We boosted the quality of the programming, yet we are slightly worried about massive wear and tear. My team is looking for people's opinions on the following:
What is optimal speed for a smooth shift up a gear?
What is optimal speed for a smooth shift down a gear?
Turning while shifting?
Would an automatic transmission be effective?

Let me know what you think
Thanks guys!
