The Bot from Team 236

As for so many teams from the north East, Bag & Tag day was really just a few hours between snow storms so we were pleased to get back to the shops for a full and snow-less day. Watch our practice robot take a turn around the stage.

Now for a name!

First off, very nice bot. I like the intake mechanism.

Are those fiberglass road markers? Did you guys by chance do any stress tests on them to see how well they hold up to breakage? We tried some tests using them, and after about 4-5 direct hits they shattered.

Thanks Jarren! Regarding the rods, that's not an issue we've come across

That machine is very much improved from Suffield. But how do you exactly launch your ball? I heard venting air with each shot, but there was no clear view of the mechanism itself. Is it a catapult, puncher, or something else altogether?

When we throw a ball in the robot, they bend more than we like, so we've tied them all together with a piece of lexan to distribute the load across all of the poles.

It's a spring loaded catapult that is loaded with a large pneumatic cylinder.

Re: The Bot from Team 236

Looks great! Best of luck this season! Hopefully we'll both make it to DCMP so I can see it in-person!
