it's totally great. however it seems like they've crammed all the exposition in to episode 1 so they can move on to the steak and potatoes with the following episodes. My dad said he's seen it before and "(he) didn't know that Voyager had left our universe" and my mom said "but they didn't tell us anything" after i facepalmed, described the difference between solar system and universe, and cited the invalidity of the "ancient alien" shows on history channel that phrase all their "facts" as questions so they can say any nonsense they want. I admired that cosmos just got me to watch tv and have a discussion with my parents
