Re: [FRCTop25.com] Week 2 Voting!

FRC Top 25 was created to recognize "solid robots". How would people feel about using these threads to congratulate a lower profile team that deserves some recognition (and maybe some votes)?

I wouldn't mind if people chose a robot from an event they attended and wrote a short description of it. Does this idea have merit or do we think this contributes to the clutter on CD?

For example:

From GTRW I would like to recognize Team 2935 - NACI Robotics.

This robot was a menace at GTRW last week, taking home the Engineering Excellence award and a finalist trophy. NACI reliably scores in the low goal and excels at chasing down truss shots and completing 21 point cycles quickly. Their robot is amazingly quick, very well driven, and its value rises as defensive intensity increases. Their game approach was proven successful when as the 3rd alliance captain, 2935 upset a strong second alliance and took the finals to a third match with the help of 188's truss shot and 3705's defence.

Match video: GTRW SF 2-1
FB page: Team2935

If this catches more people could confidently fill in the 15-25 spots on the ballot, we crowd-source material for the hosts, and deserving teams get recognition regardless. Everybody wins!

Re: [FRCTop25.com] Week 2 Voting!

^ I really like this idea. So many awesome teams never get the attention they really deserve.

From Mt. Olive, I'd like to give a shout out to 2559, Normality Zero. Unfortunately, I don't have video of them playing at the moment.

These guys had an awesome looking orange bot with a very consistent auton, as well as reliable high goal and truss shot once they got hold of the ball. In my opinion, they were definitely in the top tier at MO. On top of that, they were some of the easiest people to work with, trusting us to shoot the ball after our catapult hadn't been working for most of the day and executing our strategy perfectly. Coming into sunday morning, they were my dark horse to take the event out from some of the bigger name teams there. Looking forward to seeing you at Lehigh

Re: [FRCTop25.com] Week 2 Voting!

Using this thread to recognize teams that often fly under the radar is awesome. Perhaps this will bring awareness to the voters and might push them into the Top 25!

Voting will close tomorrow around 12PM EST so get your votes in!

Re: [FRCTop25.com] Week 2 Voting!

I'd like to give a shout out to 4488, Shockwave. They were the best robot at Oregon City and will be arguably one of the best in the PNW District System this year. Here's video from Final-1.

They have the most refined RI3D/JVN clone bot I've seen. The collector is fast and retracts. They have a wide range of shot distance, nice clean shot arc. They can't lose the ball after acquisition, and they can fire with the collector retracted. They played smart, great HP truss shots, great teamwork, great defense. This picture doesn't do them justice, but it's a georgous bot.

They walked out of Oregon City with 2 banners last week and the stats to back it up. They are ranked 1st in current PNW standing and still have another district before PNW Champs.

They made my Top 25, will they make yours?

Re: [FRCTop25.com] Week 2 Voting!

My shout out has to be, 3316 D-Bug from Tel Aviv, Israel. They were great at the Israel regional winning first place ranking wise, and becoming regional winners. They have a great robot, reliable shooter and intake, and some pretty good drivers. They were able to grab the ball with heavy defense being played on them and get the ball consistently into the 10 point goal. I always liked watching the Israel regionals, and 3316 made it exciting this year.
