FIRST Americorps VISTA Positions at NASA in WV

Position Description: https://my.americorps.gov/mp/listing...romSearch=true

Yes, there IS a NASA Facility in the Mountain State of West Virginia. We are the home of NASA's Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) Program. On top of housing some of the best minds in the world in the field of IV&V, we have an active and progressive education and outreach team contracted through Fairmont State University which is also the FIRST Operational Partner for FLL in WV.

I need your help to forward this message to anyone you think may be eligible or interested in working for FIRST at NASA for a year. This is a truly unique chance to spend 1 year giving back to your county by supporting FIRST robotics throughout West Virginia. The VISTAs are quite literally paid to play with LEGOs. . . and help start robotic teams at school or organizations, support and run tournaments, and conduct trainings on programming, CAD, and more. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me.

NASA IV&V Seeks Americorps VISTA to Support FIRST Robotics

Position Description: https://my.americorps.gov/mp/listing...romSearch=true

FIRST (For the Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is a non-profit organization, started by inventor Dean Kamen, which runs the Jr. FLL, FLL, FTC, and FRC robotics competitions worldwide. They have agreed to sponsor two, 1-year Americorps VISTA positions at NASA IV&V in Fairmont, West Virginia! This full-time job will focus on increasing the participation in all FIRST robotics competitions and to support teams and tournaments in underserved communities within WV.

PLEASE help me identify candidates ages 18 and up who are willing to give back to their country for a year while deferring student loans, earning a tuition stipend, and building their resume. Preference will be given to candidates who have an undergraduate degree in K-12 Education or a STEM field and who have knowledge and/or experience with FLL, FTC and/or FRC as a student, mentor or coach.

Applications are due by April 10th, and if accepted the candidates will be required to live near the NASAIV&V Facility in Fairmont, WV and begin work on May 1st, 2014.

PLEASE forward the link below to potential candidates and feel free to contact me with any questions.

Sincerely,
Todd
