Battery

Posted by GregT at 2/20/2001 11:17 AM EST

Student on team #639, RedB^2, from Ithaca High School and Cornell University.

Team 639 has successfully drilled 3 1" holes in our battery to reduce the weight of our robot by 1 pound. We have some experienced professionals, so I don’t suggest trying this yourself.

Greg

I imagine that could work, especially if you drilled the holes while the battery was on the bot. as soon as the acid was finished eating its way through your chassis, electronics, etc. you'd have lost a LOT of weight....
