1678 Scouting 2014 White paper

Team 1678 is proud to announce a review and description of our 2014 scouting system!

The mostly tablet-based system worked very well for us this year, allowing for seamless data transfer between data-collecting Android tablets and smartphones with our drive team to provide real time data for strategizing. It offered significant improvements over our previous version from last year (view the 2013 white paper at http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/sh...highlight=1678). We believe that our system was a major contributing factor to our success both during qualification matches and for alliance selections.

We present a white paper which gives a technical overview of the system. We hope that it will inspire programmers on other teams to create their own scouting apps. Ultimately, Team 1678 believes that having students create a sophisticated scouting app is an incredible learning opportunity through which they can gain significant programming experience.

Please feel free to contact us by replying to this thread or via email at frc1678@gmail.com with any questions regarding our scouting app, or if you would like guidance on programming your own.

Re: 1678 Scouting 2014 White paper

This is definitely a key reason why you guys made it to the finals of Einstein this year.

This may or may not significantly help our team with creating a new scouting system next season.

Thank you for sharing this.
