LamBot 3478 2014 Reveal Video: IRI Edition

As the first and only mexican team invited to IRI we proudly introduce to you our modified and improved robot.
It is an honor for us to represent our country competing in this Off Season event. We dedicated many hours to identify the opportunities and determinate the modifications for our robot, and finally they are here, it was a great opportunity to learn from our mentors and improve in many areas.

Most of the improvements that we made to the IRI edition of our robot were possible due to our new work model based on a better designing planning.
We were able to design and make a whole new custom made sheet metal chasis.


Giving a more detailed review in our improvements...

Drivetrain:
8 wheel tank with 4 traction wheels and 4 omniwheels
6 CIMs driving 2 VexPro BallShifters with extra gear reduction. 8-17 ft/s

New Intake:
Now with pneumatic cylinders
Roller powered by a VersaPlanetary 40:1 with a BAG motor, with extra reduction at the roller.

Faster shooting mechanism:
It reloads faster thanks to a new pneumatic release system.

Other improvements involve mostly programming, electronics and pneumatics. We are thrilled to announce that we have now hot goal detection in addition to our 2 ball autonomous.

We know it will be a tough competition but we are excited and willing to make a great role in our first IRI event. We can't wait to compete and to learn from the amazing teams that are attending IRI, while making new friends!

Congratulations! It's really cool to see how much teams outside of the US/Canada are growing. I like your shooting mechanism, too. probably the most compact claw shooter I've seen this year.
