FIRST Technical Contacts
I am going to contact FIRST with a problem that i have discovered on my robot that provides a serious safety issue.
I am planning on emailing frcteams@usfirst.org, but before I do, I would just like to know if anyone actually checks this address, or if there is somewhere else I should be sending this to. It involves the compressor running in normal functionality when the robot is turned on at any point, which includes no computer connection to the robot and the robot being disabled. I do not know the cause (nor would i like to speculate here) but I would like to contact someone at FIRST because the FPGA (which no teams have access to) is the component that should prevent this from happening. |

Re: FIRST Technical Contacts
Can you describe your wiring? I suspect it is wired improperly or a faulty relay is the cause as opposed to something FIRST needs to be contacted about.

Re: FIRST Technical Contacts
We are sure it is not a wiring problem, as we have measured the voltage coming out of the pins directly on the sidecar.

Re: FIRST Technical Contacts
If you have a second Sidecar, then I would plug that in temporarily to see if the issue is a short circuit inside the DSC.
I've seen that cause this before. |

Re: FIRST Technical Contacts
I have seen a few digital sidecars where the relay enable signal is stuck in the enabled state. This causes the FPGA disable signal to be ineffective. Does your issue occur with another digital sidecar?
