Litterer's Dilema
The rules for qualification matches this year are quite interesting, especially when you take litter into consideration. Basically, when you're 'competing' with another alliance during a match, you aren't really competing, because all that matters for ranking is points earned, not matches won.
This makes a big difference for the litter, since it means if both teams agree to leave all litter in the auto zone, then they can earn more points than if they move it to the landfill. Four times as many points, actually. This is a pretty interesting prisoners dilemma, which our team has dubbed "The Rafi Effect" (after the guy on our team who pointed it out). So what do you think? Is there going to be reputation at tournaments about which teams will cooperate, and which wont? |

Re: Litterer's Dilema
It's an easy source of points with no risk, so unless the rules are changed I imagine it will be very commonplace. It also has the effect of making the game even more boring to watch.

Re: Litterer's Dilema
This and the separate halves of the field take away from the fun of match planning. Your alliance doesn't even have to know who they're up against.
![]() Edit: except for coordinating the coopertition points. |
