Changing Gearboxes
So our team spent most of the off season perfecting a 6-CIM, 2 Speed drivetrain system (see how well that worked out?
) using these.Anyways, we are in the process of trying to find a better gearbox, preferably single speed. At the moment, our preferred choice is this. The problem we keep running into is that we are using the VEX Versa Chassis and have no way of connecting the single speed gearboxes to it. Does anyone know of a way to do this? Or should we just stick with what we have? Thanks |

Re: Changing Gearboxes
I feel like there's a way to connect those gearboxes, as they are Vex products after all.
We're in a very similar situation, and we decided to go with the clamp-on gearboxes with a sprocket reduction to the wheel. |

Alternatively, you can purchase the WCP SS gearbox: http://www.vexrobotics.com/vexpro/mo...es/wcp-ss.html Paul |

Re: Changing Gearboxes
If you are going to direct drive one wheel with this gearbox, all you have to do is line up the shaft using bearings on your bearing hole. There are two holes that are slightly higher than the center of the shaft hole (by like 1/8") on either side of it. Hold or clamp the box in place, use a transfer punch (or drill bit if you don't have one) that is 1/4 inch in diameter to mark on the versaframe where the centers are, and drill it. Two bolts like this will hold it well.
