Motor Controller issue

We have a Jaguar hooked up with the 2015 PDP and the roboRIO, input voltage is 12.5 V and output is 3.4, we also tested a Talon SR and it's output is 5.4 volts.

We are wondering why?

Re: Motor Controller issue

Sounds like your PWM signal is positive and less-than-full. Talon SR LED can give you a sense of how much throttle you are commanding (see Section 5 in Talon SR User's Manual). What is your expectation exactly?

Re: Motor Controller issue

Do you have the correct motor controller selected in your software? There are differences in the PWM signals for the motor controllers.

Re: Motor Controller issue

You are going to have to tell us what you expected to be the result of this. What PWM/CAN signal were you sending it, or were you sending it any PWM/CAN?

Re: Motor Controller issue

We were expecting a full forward (that should be 12V), we did select the correct motor controller for each test in our code

The LED was blinking so our PWM wasn't full, even though the code was telling it to be full, we will try calibrating then get back to you

Re: Motor Controller issue

We calibrated all of our Talon SRs and now they give a full 12.55V output, we haven't tried a Jag yet but we only plan on using Talon SRs on our robot
