Program a single motor in teleop

We are trying to figure out how to make a motor move when a button is pushed on our joystick. I'm a little lost on both using the begin vi and teleop in combination to complete this task. Would somebody mind talking me through making a skeleton of this task? We've seen a couple of examples using an mechanum drive, but the motor we are trying to move isnt one of the main four motors. How do we move just one motor? and would it be on and off or forward and reverse? Thank you for your help!

Re: Program a single motor in teleop

Team 358 has a whole bunch of useful examples for a team like you. The Single Motor Example shows how to use a joystick to control a motor. Use the Begin.vi part of that example, and replace the Teleop.vi part with what's in the Button Control of Motor Example a couple of spots down the page.
