2015 Orlando Regional
The Orlando Regional is always a reunion of sorts for me, getting to catch up with all my robot friends, but after being away all year (I moved to VA last Feb.) I might be more excited for this regional than I've ever been.
I can't wait to see what everyone's come up with, and now that South Florida is a week one event I expect we're gonna have a lot of robots with experience out on the field this year. See everyone in a few weeks! |

Re: 2015 Orlando Regional
I completely forgot to post in this thread.
4901 is excited to be back at our second Orlando regional. If the trend continues from last year we should be performing a lot better at our second event then we have at our first. Plus we've come up with some creative upgrades to our bot. #TeamTether is all I'm going to say for now, unless you follow me on twitter then you might know more. ![]() Looking forward to seeing some old friends and making some new ones. Plus I'm a huge fan of the RoboShow production that's put on at this regional. Last edited by JohnFogarty : 04-03-2015 at 22:35. |

Re: 2015 Orlando Regional
Introducing the RoboShow for the 2015 Orlando Regional coming to you live this weekend. The RoboShow Team has been working diligently to bring you the action of the Orlando Regional right to your screen.
As always we will have the live broadcast on Saturday beginning 30 minutes before playoffs. The show should begin around 12:30pm if the regional is on schedule. The Saturday show will bring you live match and robot analysis straight from the studio and on the field. We will also bring you strategy and interviews of FIRST Teams alongside all the exciting playoff matches of the day. We are working on something special for you for a Friday show. It has yet to be determined so be sure to check back on this link for updates. A live stream link will be posted for you on the Chief Delphi forum, on our twitter, and on our website (http://www.theroboshow.net/ ). If you are going through some RoboShow withdraws, feel free to watch our past shows on our YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/TheRoboShowLive ). Also check out our teasers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nuw8XgFIXzU and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e7R3le-nwS0 . Special thanks to the two teams whose robots appear in them. Can you guess which ones they are? We are excited to bring you all things FIRST at the Orlando Regional. If any team would like to give us a prop for our set, please give it to a RoboShow Volunteer during the event as they walk around the pits. We can return the props if necessary at the conclusion of our Saturday Show. We are also looking for any hidden gems about your experiences at the Orlando Regional. So find one of us and tell us about you and your team! See you all soon and smile for the camera as you walk in for Pit Load in. ![]() |

Re: 2015 Orlando Regional
The Orlando Regional Presents our πe in the Face Event! You may notice these boxes in front of the pits or in the Arena Lobby. These people are all ready to get pied in the face Saturday Morning. But who will pie them? That is still to be decided. Raffle tickets are being sold in the lobby of the Arena and the front of the pits (soon). Students, Mentors, Volunteers, Parents, etc. all have the opportunity to buy raffle tickets 1 ticket for $1 or 6 tickets for $5. Winners will be selected Friday after matches are over and will be announced via our social media. Pieing will begin immediately after opening ceremonies on Saturday Morning to celebrate Pi Day! So follow us on https://www.facebook.com/OrlandoFRC and https://twitter.com/orlandofrc to see if you are the lucky winner!!

Re: 2015 Orlando Regional
Wanted to say thanks to all the teams that helped us at the Orlando regional. Robotz Garage, SPAM, and Get Smart were all a great help to us with scouting and parts we needed to do our major overhaul on Thursday morning.
Our team had fun and we definitely increased our performance over our first event by well over 200%. That's really saying something even though we didn't make it to playoffs this season. We just could not keep hold of those recycling containers to cap stacks nearly as well as we could stack totes. Orlando was a really deep event this year. The average score of the 8th seed alliance captain would have been number 1 seed at regional events previous to this. Just wanted to also congratulate the 744 2974 4118 alliance. The strategy you employed was the one I wanted to see win a regional the most since week one. Of all the alliances I wanted to work with that was by far my favorite. Plus I'm a fan of 3 teams actually contributing to the score as opposed to 2 teams dragging along a 3rd team for the ride. Your alliance strategy could end up doing really well at championships. We'll just have to wait and see. #Team4Stack2Strong #DownGoesthe6Stack Last edited by JohnFogarty : 15-03-2015 at 19:26. |
