Re: Central Valley Regional 2015
1678,
Just to let you guys know (if you don't already), the webcast audio seems to be screwed up. It's making a pretty terrible sound in place of any real audio. In addition, the Skype call ring comes through the feed every 30 seconds (someone gets a lot of Skype calls?) along with the occasional sonar-ish pings. It's weird haha. |

It looks likr the practice schedule has matchs starting noon pacific time. I think the feed will only go up then.

Re: Central Valley Regional 2015
Can anyone post an update about this event? I would love to know in particular how 1678 and 254 are doing but also if there is anyone else making a strong case.

1678 has been fairly consistent, especially as the day went on. They're scoring 2-3 stacks of 5 totes + litter almost every match. However, their score ceiling is relatively low. We also haven't seen the chokehold mechanism in action. No other team is in the same tier at the moment. However, I'll put my money on 3970 as a sleeper pick. They've been consistently strong every year since 2013, and this year is no different. |

Re: Central Valley Regional 2015
On behalf of team 1678, I would like to thank the organizers, volunteers, judges and referees of the Central Valley Regional for putting on another fine event. Everything ran smoothly and the atmosphere was electric from start to finish.
A huge thanks to our alliance partners, teams 254 and 1323, especially Madtown for letting us mount our second RC grabber on your bot. Congratulations to the finalist alliance of 701, 2102 and 1662. All three of you looked like the seasoned teams you are and, sitting next to 2102 in the stands, I can say that you are one of the most enthusiastic but gracious teams in FIRST. Congratulations to team 604 for another well-deserved Chairman's win and to team 585 for taking the EI trophy. A huge shout out to Team 5529 for catching the Judges eye, winning the Rookie All Star Award and a trip to champs. You guys made huge progress from Friday to Sunday and were one of the few teams to complete two Coopertition stacks. last, but by no means least, I can't tell you how pleased I am that Paul Lake has finally earned a well-deserved Woodie Flowers. Your dedication to FIRST and leadership of one of the most outstanding teams in California is something you should be very proud of. Also, thanks to all the great teams who came to this event and made it so much fun. Looking forward to seeing some of you at Sacramento and SVR. |
